Link goes, as always, to the NHL.com recap. Yes, it's a crude way to get the point across, but this game was a beatdown save for the last 7 minutes of the second period. The New Jersey Devils played with the Lightning so well in terms of possession and puck movement, I half expect their defenders and backcheckers to have rotating stars around their heads. Poor Olaf Kolzig just got torched in so many different ways: one deflection through his legs (Mike Rupp), one laser blast from the point (Zach Parise), one blast off his glove and in (Dainius Zubrus), one stuffed in by a Devil crashing the net (Zubrus, again!), and one shot not seen via a screen (Brian Gionta, screen by, you guessed it, Zubrus!).

Devils got the job done with a second-period surge causing a little concern by tacking on two more: a beauty of a breakaway goal from Zubrus and a ripping one-timer from, yes, Zubrus! Doc calls it a Texas Hat Trick, but Dainius Zubrus played what has to be one of the best games of his entire career. He got a Quad in the G column and earned each one of them. His line was great, but Zubrus was head and shoulders playing like a beast possessed. 2 Man Advantage is just loving. this. IPB absolutely loved this game. I loved the game and effort. And the only ones who don't are either haters of Jersey's Team or Lightning fans. In short: WHOOOOOOOOOOO!
