Gulitti: Devils sign Brendan Shanahan
I can't really comment on much now, so here's a reaction:
Seriously?

It’s very tough to judge now. He can certainly help PP and PK, both are for a lack of better words….. awful. Personally I think that this is the first part in a series of movements which will see either Pandolfo or Gionta traded although with Pandolfo’s contract it’s doubtful he will be moved (although never say never). As for the line up now, who would come out? The first reaction is to take Rupp out but you need the “big enforcer” out there. Who knows what Lou will do though, I certainly didn’t believe any reports of this move earlier in the year.

I'll have more thoughts tomorrow...
The Gulitti article linked has plenty, and I mean, plenty of quotes.
He also has posted an extensive amount of words from Shanahan’s mouth about what has been going on until this signing. He had a number of offers, leading me to believe that Lou isn’t the only one who think he could play. The Rangers’ and Flyers’ cap issues made signing Shanahan impossible; the Rangers were his initial first choice – but he has moved on and is now back in the uniform where his career started (albeit with black instead of green).

Bring back the green!
Will be interesting to see what he has left after collecting rust for half a season. As a PP specialist alone he could be worth it. As a neutral, I’m glad: the Sundin Opera aspect of it is mercifully over, and he goes to a team where the move could actually make a difference.
