Devils Radio Announcers
Does anyone like the Devils radio announcers? I listen to Matt Loughlin and I cringe. He is so boring and unimformed. Definaltely does not know the game like other announcers around the league. Secondly his sidekick (some woman who I can never remember her name) is pretty knowlegable when it comes to hockey but her voice is a hard listen. We need to bring back Randy Velichek (sp). Anybody agree or have any thoughts? I will say I love listening to Mike Emrick and Chico on the broadcasts but could live without the girl with all the make-up on...Steve Cangilosi.

I actually think Cangilosi does a good job with play by play
I also miss Velishek. I think he was great. I don’t like the current radio crew at all.

Cangelosi is pretty good for soccer and filling in on occasion – yet he needs to stop saying when a Devils goalie is en route to a shutout and learn how to pronounce “SCORE.” But he’s not bad. Though, I prefer Matt Loughlin for the in-game reporting and intermission work.
Sherry Ross has been in and out of the Devils’ broadcasting area whilst covering the team. Still, I miss John Hennessey and Randy Valischek – I don’t know why they were fired.

I don’t care who announces the Devils games as long as the broadcast ends with, “And the Devils lose to the Penguins _ to _.”

I don’t mind Tangialosi (as we call him; his orange hue is sometimes disturbing) calling the games, though he’s no Doc.
I too wish he’d stop talking about things like shutouts and penalty kill streaks, etc. during a game, and can’t stand his interviews… though I tend to dislike most interviews with athletes, especially of the post-game variety.
I only listen to Loughlin if, for some reason, it’s the only way I can catch a game, and I always make sure I’ve got a cup of coffee handy else I fall asleep.
