Game #23 - Devils at Boston Bruins

New Jersey Devils at Boston Bruins, Nov 27, 2009 12:00 PM EST

Zzzzzzzz... Oh, good morning there!  Isn't this Noon hockey kind of weird?  The last time the Devils played a game that started at 12PM?  January 21, 2006.  A shootout winner over the Islanders.  I was there, which is the only reason a sane human being would remember that fact.

Anyway, the gang here at In Lou We Trust hopes you had a happy Thanksgiving.  As a Giant fan, I'm not legally allowed to say that I did.

TV: MSG (HD)

Radio: WFAN 660 AM

Previews: It takes a Herculean amount of will power to write a preview for a game the (barely) afternoon after Thanksgiving.  Scroll for Fischer's, and keep an eye on Stanley Cup of Chowder, for all your Bruins needs.

Oh, and just because it brought me so much joy, read Fischer's awesome takedown of Newsday columnist Arthur Staple again.

Song to Get You Pumped Up But Also Make You Think Deeply About Tonight's Game: Going with Boston worked last time, so kick it up a notch with "More Than a Feeling".

Join us in the comments. As always:  Keep the comments clean, you keep them on-topic (tangents OK, talking about the Devils/Boston Bruins is OK, but I don't want to turn this into a "You're getting really lazy with these" thread), and support the New Jersey Devils

John and Steve

I just wanted to say you guys do a great job on the posting. I have been reading for a couple months now and I come on everyday. I have been to the other team sites and this one I think is the best ones in terms of quality writing. So thanks and go devils! I get to see them when they come to Toronto Feb 2 2010!

Totally Forgot this Game was At 12....

yawn curses. If I knew better, I would have woken up a while ago and actually got things accomplished today hahaha.

And I agree with Kyle. I’ve been trying to put consistent input on this blog for the season. You guys do a good job running everything. I’m glad to be a participant.

Looks like I’m putting off my plans until this game is over.

On a sidenote, is anybody going to tomorrows game by any chance? I’ll be in the second row of section 132 with my typical parise jersey on cheering my ass off with my cousin.

Well, the Devils defense has looked good, Brodeur has looked good, and the offense has got a few chances. Zajac really should have scored on that PP, I hope the Devils won’t be regretting that miss later in the game.

Next period: More hockey, Brodeur becomes the all-time leader in minutes, and hopefully, a New Jersey Devils lead.

by R_Adragna on Nov 27, 2009 1:15 PM EST up reply actions

I didn’t even know Oduya was out until, like, two nights ago. It would figure that our two most offensive defensemen would go down at the same time.

But I would think Martin should be back within a month or so. How long ago was it that he broke his arm? I believe fractured forearms take about four-to-six weeks to heel, and then he’ll probably need to rehab it a little bit and get in some skating and practices to get his timing back before he gets reinserted into the line-up.

Terrible pass by Langenbrunner allows Chara to charge forward for a shot. Save by Brodeur, of course.

But seriously – Devils up 1. Marty’s kept the Devils in it, but the Devils started showing up later in the period.

Boston’s not demoralized by the goal, they’re pushing up but Marty is stopping everything. I think the Devils will need to score at least one more and soon to really put the screws to the Bs.

Off topic

But I’m watching the Flyers-Sabres game right now. Carcillo of Philly and Rivet of Buffalo were getting into a big argument across from each other in their respective penalty boxes. They got into a fight and Carcillo was PO’d that Rivet got a few shots on him after they went down and was still that way even in the box. He gets into argument with Rivet and refs take him out of box and into locker room. I was hoping something along the lines of this video would happen:
