Christmas for the Devils
Unfortunately, the Devils will not be in town when Christmas rolls around this year. But if you find yourself wondering what to get your favorite Devil for Christmas, here's what they need.
Martin Brodeur - An extra leg. First of all, minds out of the gutters. What I mean by this is that while Marty has been incredible for us this season, he is still prone to giving up stinkers, goals that you know he can stop because he can still make the difficult saves look easy. This extra leg, though possibly against league rules, would at least help him keep that five hole closed and lower the number of bad goals he lets in. A small nitpick for the greatest of all time, but think of the extra wins we can hold on to if the easy saves weren't so...well...hard for him sometimes.
Zach Parise - An Olympic gold medal. This way, he gets all of the benefits of winning Olympic gold without the hassle of flying to Vancouver and risking injury. Parise is guaranteed a spot on Team USA's top scoring line, and will be logging plenty of minutes under the Tyrants of Truculence, Brian Burke and Ron Wilson. He needs only ask Patrik Elias how much fun it is to be injured at the Olympics, and as the unquestioned leader of the New Jersey offense, that would pose a nightmare scenario for Devils fans and management.
Patrik Elias - A big box of patience. I feel his frustration at not scoring at the rate he's capable of, but as a 12 year NHL veteran, he's got to remember that playing frustrated won't help his cause any. Elias definitely hasn't lost his touch, so the chances will come.
Brian Rolston - The 6' Goalie Mate Goal Practice Shooting Target. No one is denying that Rolston has one of the hardest shots in hockey, but those of us with eyeballs can safely deny that his shot is accurate. When his cannon of a shot does manage to hit the net, good things usually happen. We're not teaching the old dog any new tricks here, just helping him refine the only trick he's got.
Paul Martin - A new long-term contract. I'm not suggesting that our #1 defenseman is getting ready to bolt come summertime, but he will be an unrestricted free agent, and given the recent string of big name departures dating back to 2004, it's hard to feel comfortable about anyone staying these days until the contract is officially announced as done.
Happy shopping. (I didn't want to do this for the whole team, but if you have an idea for another player feel free to comment with it.)

Rolston’s gift idea was hilarious! Thats exactly what he needs. Depending on how much he asks, they’ll resign Martin. I cant believe Greene though, 26 min/Game average last month and still playin great!
