Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Russia defeated the United States 3-2 and Canada outdid Sweden 3-1. The group leaders in the Qualifying Stages and the tournament favorites will play for the Gold Medal on Sunday. Link goes to the IIHF's page where all the boxscores are in PDF format. (Seriously, IIHF web-content providers, stop making all stat pages in PDFs, it's a bit annoying.)

In the Bronze medal game, it will be a re-match between Sweden and the United States. They faced each other in the Qualifying round, and Sweden won a high scoring 6-5 game in overtime thanks to Kristian Huselius. Will recent history repeat itself? Will Robert Esche give up 6 on 28 shots (I hope not!)?

As far as the Devils, well, they didn't do much of anything on the scoresheet. Clemmensen sat, Zajac was on the ice for Shawn Horcoff's goal, and Oduya wasn't out there for any goal against. Still, all three Devils get one more chance to make their mark on the WCs on Sunday.
