"Lou and I have had some good discussions this weekend," Sutter said. "I don't want to say any more than that right now. There will be a decision here very soon."

Chere has an update from Brent Sutter about his decision.

Chere is starting to express doubts, but he has this interesting angle. His junior team, the Red Deer Rebels could make the difference. Sutter does own them and they've been awful in the last two seasons.

I'm doubtful on that, personally. Lou would have dumped him if Sutter was really thinking Red Deer is going to cause him to leave a NHL position in New Jersey. I feel he will still fill out his contract at a minimum.

He should have his turn now. He was considered two seasons ago and got turned down. It is his time now. But who will be the offensive coach???
