Hockey in Newark program Honored in U.S. Senate

One of the Devils' ways they outreach to the Newark community is with their assistance with the Hockey in Newark program, offering rink time at the AmeriHealth Pavillion as well as distributing equipment. Thanks to the team's sponsorship, the program has come a long way since 2003, growing from 5 to over 100 players. So much so that Senator Robert Menendez issued a resolution praising the program and the Devils involvement in it. This is a great example of the team's community outreach succeeding; and I certainly hope the program continues to grow. Who knows, maybe Newark can be the home a future NHL star one day.
