Devils, MSG Announce 2009-10 TV Schedule

I guess it should be somewhat expected that my second post here would be a TV-related one. The Devils and MSG Plus announced the team's broadcast schedule. The Devils website has the official announcement, including the most important detail: that Mike "Doc" Emrick and Glenn "Chico" Resch will return for their 14th season of bromantic hockey commentary and sympathy for the goaltender position.

As it points out, 76 of the Devils 82 games will be aired on the networks of MSG, with the rest being covered by VERSUS. All told, 52 will be on MSG Plus, with 15 on MSG Plus 2 and 9 on MSG. The pre-game shows will return before almost every MSG Plus telecast. The entire schedule is after the jump.

now if Cablevision could get an HD feed setup for MSG Plus 2 (and MSG 2), I wouldn’t mind the 15 games where we play second billing behind the Islanders telecast.

I'm in a slightly better boat, I get MSG 2 in HD.

But they don’t even have MSG+2 on a channel, so you have to go hunting around for it.

Once again Devils get fourth billing behind the Islanders and Knicks (What?).

This is a complete disgrace, and without a shadow of a doubt the Devil FO’s worst move ever. You’re telling me that SNY wouldn’t want a hockey broadcast? What the hell do they show from October to April anyways besides Mets classics? Instead we get stuck behind not just one, but two teams that were in contention for the worst record last year, and don’t look to be much better this year.
