per Gulitti: "The Devils assigned right wing Ilkka Pikkariainen to CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League today. Pikkarainen cleared waivers last Friday and the Devils had 30 days to assign him somewhere without having to put him through waivers again. CSKA Moscow is coached by former Devil Sergei Nemchinov and former Devil Slava Fetisov is the president of the team, so the Devils obviously have connections there."
