It seems like more often then not, there seems to be one thing similar to every goal a team scores on the Devils this season: Henrik Tallinder. For a big guy, he doesn't take the body, has a hard time poking away passes, and seems to just outright refuse to hussle to loose pucks in the corner. It seems like he is on the ice and a key contributer to every goal against this season. There is 3 million dollars there that could desperately help this team (Salvador) . Maybe we can get a draft pick this year after all ? Actually, I'd settle for a box of frozen pucks at this point..
As for the other veterans, I don't know why its Volchenkov out with the stiff neck considering Clarkson is the one who seems to have his head glued in the downward position when skating with the puck. I think it's fair to say Captain America's super serum has worn off. And Jason Arnott seems to only skate in one direction. Maybe Andy Greene will step up his game again if he thinks his roster spot is no longer a guarantee. Patrick Elias's passes need a seeing eye dog to guide them. And I don't know about anyone else, but watching Corrente get muscled off the puck by that 5'6 midget on the sabres left a really bad taste in my mouth. At least Johhny Mac FINALLY took Taormina off the #1 power play unit, I can go to the bathroom and get a drink before he can effectively set up any kind of attack.
The only players I really see showing up every game is the Z3 line. I really hope Zubrus doesn't get traded when the time comes to shave cap space dollars. My vote is to get rid of Tallinder ASAP. What do you guys think ?
