Who do we root for????

Well the moment I have been dreading looks like it will happen Sunday. The U.S.A hockey team plays Canada Sunday and Martin Brodeur will be the goalie for team Canada. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hardplace. Who do you root for if you root for team U.S.A .you are rooting against our goaltender. Its a tough call for a Devil fan. What is your feelings about this??

I want Marty to have a great tournament, but I want some more gold for the red white and blue!

Go Team USA !!!

Hockey is my life, even though I can barely skate. Anyone willing to take on a good athlete that will learn to skate (with time) for their inline hockey team? Let me know!

Since I’m Canadian, I can root for Marty. But like how many of you can’t root for Marty, I can’t root for Zach and Langs

USA

I’ll be rooting against Marty

I have respect for most sports fans with 2 exceptions: NY Ranger fans who grew up in New Jersey, and Dallas Cowboy fans who can't name the capital of Texas.

I’ll be rooting for the US, but hoping that Marty plays well.

USA all the way

Let Marty give up all the bad goals he’s going to for the rest of the season against the USA so the Devils go all the way to the Cup!!

Go Jets
Go Devils

USA

Don’t forget Langenbrunner© and Parise(A) are American. I understand it’s Marty, but if you are an American, you root for your country (yes, Drury and Callahan too but quietly), emphasize on Jamie and Zach, then everyone else (Sorry Marty, I know in the back of your head, you’re hoping to rob Parise glove side in the closing seconds to win the game, but I hope you get lit up Sunday.

I was actually pretty upset when Drury scored. But I agree I’m American and I could care less if Marty gets lit up. As long as he doesn’t get hurt I’ll be happy.

I think if the US gets elimated I would want the Czech team to win gold though. It would be great for Patty to get gold as captain.

If it makes you feel better...

Drury and Callahan are on the 4th line together. They play about 10 minutes a game, lowest out of the whole team. They’re on the ‘worst line’ together b/c they need chemistry in order to perform.

Whereas Zach and Jamie played the most minutes out of all forwards last game, and don’t need to be on the same line in order to excel (they will probably play together against Canada IMO). Zach plays on the top line and they both play on the PP. Did I mention Langs and Parise where the ‘C’ and ‘A,’ and Drury and Callahan don’t.

Priority cheering, via Devil player

Here is my thought process in watching these games:
1. Team USA – While it is great the Langs and Parise are on the team, it could be a bunch of nobodies, nothing trumps nationalism.
2. Czech Republic – Elias is one of my all time favorite Devils
3. Canada – This was for Brodeur, however if he is sitting then it would actually root against, since they are (were) the favorites
4. Russia – Supporting the new guy, plus their forwards are fun to watch.
5. Sweden – My girlfriend like Oduya and was upset about that trade.
