I just realized its been nearly a month since the team had a home game. I guess that along with both team’s recent games may explain the tepid mood. Plenty of uneasiness in the air, but its early for the crowd.

I really wanna be there! This game and Friday’s game are huge! I feel this is what the Devils need. Playing at home I hope will get them back in the swing of things. I have not lost any hope in my team! :<) LETS GO DEVILS
I’m only going to post between periods this evening and after the game.

The Devils get some good work done by Nieds, Rolston and Mottau. Clarkson screens in front, Rolston banks the puck off Lundqvist, Robbie finds the rebound and finds the net! 1-0!

I Like the way that line played.

by Matthew Ventolo on Mar 10, 2010 7:44 PM EST reply actions

I did, but I noticed that it was a little unorganized

often more than one of them would go behind the net at a time… only one needs to go back there, the rest need to stay back and be ready for the centering pass.

Agreed!

by Nothinggoespast on Mar 10, 2010 7:45 PM EST up reply actions

That should be the case, but they were looking for a shot from the point. The defense was changing on the fly, so they controlled the outside. But what I liked was they were able to keep possession during a defensive change (instead of one pinching to help). Hopefully with more time they will be able to get that centering pass and a better shot from the point.

It’s an improvement, a big one.

If it is true

that there are as many Ranger fans in the Rock tonight as Devils, I am willing to have a strategize session over the summer to lessen these occurrences. It has nothing to do with ticket buying schemes.

This’ll probably be the last comment I make for the night, it’s time for me to enjoy the 3rd period in my master suite (aka…my room). Great game played by the Devils thus far. What has been the most noticeable thing about this team since Edmonton, you might wonder? The hitting. The devils have absolutely layed out some Rangers, on open ice hits, while backchecking in their own zone, while forechecking in the Rangers zone. The aggressiveness and fire in this team has been turned up a couple of notches. And what usually happens when a team is more aggressive than the other? They score goals. There has been a couple of defensive lapses, but overall I have seen a resurgence of energy that I have not seen in this team since early January. Hopefully this continues into the third period.

Great game for the Devils they were driving the net. The defense was shooting the puck and traffic in front of Lundqvist cause havoc… It also seemed like they got more back to their game and did not depend on Kovy to carry them. I am ready for Pittsburgh. Go Devils…
