I love running with the devil. One of the few Van Halen songs I like. It’s funny watching the bassist, who has like one note over and over again.
Hockey related, did anyone else notice the Caps are only 1 point away from 100? And that they already clinched their division? Damn, I knew they were ahead, but not that much.

crappy clear by both sal and greene, this is not a top d pairing, it’s a 3rd pair at best
3rd line needs to really step it up
bc rolston is overpaid at 5 million, he needs to put up more goals and niedermayer has got to use more of his speed,
frankly i’d put zharkov with elias and kovy, langs is a little too slow for that line

the rolston
goal against the rangers was lucky, and it was almost broken up even tho it was 3 on 1, seriously after the kovy trade, i thought we had 3 legitimate lines, well the top 2 have produced but 3rd hasn’t really done much and i could understand if it was randy mckay, peluso, and holik, but they have more speed than that, along with a shot.

may have made a big mistake last game…but the kid has a ton of energy and is one of the few D men on our team taht actually feel like HITTING people is necessary. Id like to see him play more often.

don’t get back on D, i want them to do well, but they look like they are in a daze,
hopefully they score, bc if they score, i feel we can win every game

i have been watching
sans Clarkson who i like a lot, and could see him on the 2nd line,
nieds and rolston play like they’re in the ahl, i don’t know if they are tired or just old and don’t have that same fight to get the puck from the boards.
they are just lackadaisical to me,

I liked the start, but when Crosby’s scored, the Pens have been better in general. But NJ isn’t floundering, they just need to be tighter in their own zone and in moving the puck up.
That said, 1-1 against Pittsburgh after 1 isn’t so bad of a spot to be in.

BLATANTLY not call a call where Brodeur fall on his @$$ due to a penguin tripping him…..then call an absolutely HORRIBLE interference call. NHL refs are seriously pathetic. and its LEAGUE WIDE.

We are playing the Pens and they are going to be a playoff team so this should be a very good gauge has to where we stand going into the playoffs and if that was our best 5 min PP effort the playoffs will be very short.

i mean he made some saves, we haven’t put that many quality shots on net, brodeur has made a lot more quality saves,
a lot of rushes with slap shots from the top of the circle by the pens
Seriously? Look at the shot chart. The Pens have only had 6 quality shots all night. The Devils have had that many just in the second period.
Not a fan of the 7 min. on the PP drawing little.

but i’m trying to be rational here, even though i’m a huge devils fan and have been watching these guys since 92, look up for my peluso reference,
I actually saw the game with brodeur in his debut in the christmas colored jerseys
not a fairweather fan here, and what i see is not good, esp. for the level of talent on this team
our D is really bad compared to the other D’s of Devils past, and will get lit up by the likes of the Caps
The Reality
We are tied 1-1 with the Stanley Cup Champions and the #2 seed in the Atlantic Division.
In a game where both teams have had their chances, but we have had more.
Should we be winning? Maybe. Fleury’s been out of his mind.
But we are playing better than they are.

but you made the argument that we outscored the pens 15-2 in the last 4 games,
what happened? fleury is not playing out of his mind, we’ve been putting shots wide on high quality scoring positions whereas the pens have been putting those shots on net, and brodeur has been making some great saves.

the worst team, but they are severely underachieving for what type of talent they have on the team, and supposedly how good we are given that we were on top of the division and 1st in the conference for some of the season.

It looks like we’ve picked up the pace this period, after blowing some scoring chances in the 2nd. I really like how our D has stepped up

Rule 69 – Interference on the Goalkeeper
69.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper – This rule is based on the premise
that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the
crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be
allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking
players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances
be allowed. Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking
player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s
ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an
attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a
goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact
with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when
such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the
attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact.
The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice
judgement of the Referee(s), and not by means of video replay or
review.

it’s not funny anymore, and we never said we’re the worst team, we have high expectations and i’m sure so does lou,
if he didn’t think we could win this year with talent we had on the team, then he doesn’t make a blockbuster deal.
what we are criticizing is that the devils practice and talk about what they are going to do, but when you get power play time like that, it’s crucial you get high quality scoring chance and increase our probablity of getting a crucial goal in a close game
this is necessary for the playoffs, watch a couple of caps games, hell watch carolina lately they came back against the pens with the help of their power play
we need to be better esp if we are trying to win the cup, if you’re happy with winning in the regular season, then more power to you and continue with your corny jokes,
but we expect more from this team,
they need to revise
that rule, if this was the stanley cup playoffs or the finals, a lot of credibility to the game to non hockey fans watching will go out the door
Calm Down.
That was a tough play to see. And the Refs…as I said earlier…are awful

hey steve
no hard feelings, but i’m just being an objective fan, and watching the other elite teams in the league, we need to improve vastly,
the pens are good, but the caps and the west coast teams are better, look at san jose, even though we beat them, those guys were never out of it, and put a flurry of goals in a short span, that can’t happen in the finals/playoffs if we want to win,
it’s called constructive criticism, the power play was really bad tonight, let’s be honest and needs to be more effective for us to challenge the caps, and even buffalo in our own conference let alone the west coast
his best game in 2010 so far for sure

I love the Rock
Have a ton more fun there when I go (obvious cuz I’m a Devs fan). The garden is nice, but it sucks that half the fans down low are Corporate morons who have no idea what the blue line is.

he has flashes of brilliance, but he has to sustain that to get to be a dan boyle type of player
Excellent performance by the new jersey devils. Brodeur played his best game since…perhaps the last time we played against the penguins.
Take note: the Devils have played outstanding against both the Penguins and the Capitals throughout this entire season. We will see these teams again in April.

kind of a sergei brylin type player, scrappy and has a decent shot, can skate but not like the legendary brylin. LOL

‘s 1st goal since december 9th, that’s not going to cut it, if he’s our “offensive” D man
he needs to take more quality shots and put them on the net.

Fantastic pace,great defense and Marty is back!!!!! Looked like the Devils team of the first half of the season. Best game for Kovy as a Devil. Lets carry it into Long Island and get a road victory so we can get our road streak going again….The defensemen are really shooting the puck. Great goal by Greene!!!
