Good for VERSUS being back on DirecTV. Take one more complaint off the laundry list that currently exist.
I guess that’s one good thing about Cablevision (there are few imho)…I lost Food Network and HGTV (the two channels I watch most) for a few weeks, and freaking ABC of all things for a few hours or however long that was.

Terrible pass
Elias has a bad breakout pass – and there you go, that’s the most important pass.

Dump & No one can win it
Missing Clarkson there. 0 – 1 on the PP.

btw if a power play is not as important
as some fans here imply or think we’ll get over it,
you should have caught the caps – blackhawks game on sunday, they were down 3- 0 and came back with power play goals without oveckin to win it
we have nothing on the caps if we don’t get our power play in order, we’re toast
Oh Clarkie . . .
. . . how do you shank that beautiful Kovy pass?

OK you were mad I posted that
Clarkson was obviously angry at my post.

Great goal!
Skoula makes a fantstic, deft pass, and with Nieds screening in front, Clarkie buries it past Thomas. 1-0.
I think the Devils are easing into this game nicely. Wish Elias picked that corner…

I really liked the Devils offensive approach. Having that skater in the center of the top circles (not as close to the blue line). It generated a lot of shots from the point and good angle shots.

Also, did anyone else see Kovy get control of the puck in the neutral zone when his line was changing, and instead of skating it into the zone by himself, he played it back to the D and changed with his line?
I feel Kovy wouldn’t of done that a week ago. I have really been impressed with Kovy’s team playing of late..

please
bench fraser, he’s not ready for primetime, i like salmela a lot better, he at least brings an offensive edge,
did i
tell you that i love pelley, that guy just does everything well for what he’s paid for – check, put shots on net, and make hits
Yeah I expect the call to stand, unfortunately.

fraser
is useless, he gives right back to zubrus and there goes the play,
I'm gonna say this once...
No one on the Devils defense is good enough to not give Fraser the occasional shot in the lineup. At least not until Martin comes back.
by Steve Lepore on Mar 15, 2010 8:25 PM EDT up reply actions
Probably a delayed comment
But whats with all the fanning on shots tonight. Think we need to have all the players depth perception checked

Could have
been sent head first into the boards though had he been hit. Dangerous play on his part.

He's not saying
Fraser is the better player, but he’s saying that none of the top 6 is good enough that they can’t be healthy scratches from time to time. We don’t have a Pronger/Lidstrom guy.
by Mandmeisterx on Mar 15, 2010 8:29 PM EDT up reply actions
I've just watched
fraser over many games, and i have never been impressed with his game, and surprised that they even offered a contract out of camp.
I don’t think the guy is ready, esp for the playoffs – he will be a liability, and he doesn’t bring anything offensively – not asking for goals, but smart plays (e.g. skoula tonight, that guy has made some good effective offensive plays)
Fraser doesnt do that – and he’s flubbing it up on the defensive side which everyone labels him as a defensive defenseman, if he can’t get that right, then what good is he?
Did you watch
the game against PHI where he played about 22 minutes? He played a great game in both ends that game. The guy shows flashes, and I think Lemaire thinks if he keeps getting time, he’ll keep improving. And prior to the Skoula trade, we only had 6 D men, really.
by Mandmeisterx on Mar 15, 2010 8:34 PM EDT up reply actions
i've watched him all season
not impressed, he and mottau will be our reserve D, honestly, think he needs another year in the minors
our D pairings should white martin
sal greene
skoula salmela
Langs
has been pretty bad with his passing in the last 20 to 30 games, it has notably decreased from the beginning of the season.
he telegraphs passes a lot too, and the other team just intercepts them or deflects them away.
I hope he finds his passing again in time for the playoffs
Years past I used to cringe when Greene was green. Fraser is doing well enough for his first season.
I cringed
when they resigned him this season. I don’t think anyone could have predicted he’d play the way he has this year.

A much more even period. I felt Boston was sharper, but at the sane time, I see why they have struggled to score all season.
The Devils were fortunate to get out of it at 3-1. Here’s hoping they ramp it up in the third.

I think with Kovy,

I’d like to see the offense keep Boston a little more honest. But so far, I think it’s clear who is on control.

The extra man worked very well for Boston, no chance on the deflection in front.

Initial thought: Not a great performance, but unlike the last few months, the Devils held on to win.
Incidentally, Boston’s last game was a 3-2 loss where the score didn’t reflect how the game went. Wonder if that will apply for them?

Just got back from the game.
As you all could tell, the first period was a dominating performance (perhaps the best 1st period I’ve seen in months from this club) and they just kind of sat on the lead from the 2nd period onward. Fortunately, Brodeur was on top of his game again as he has continued to look like his old self, blanking the bruins on some great chances. Clarkson had a great performance and was a big factor in the 1st period. It might not have been the prettiest win, but I’m glad they were able to pull it out.

Had to take the Path into NYC, and to the game
Guess Flooding pretty much rendered NJ transit useless. PRetty good game overall, although I thought the game dragged on a bit after the first 25 minutes. Go devils. KEep the Wins coming…
I don’t know how bad it affected Newark-to-NYC; but it certainly caused delays on the NEC.
