Song to Get You Pumped Up: Some advice from Weezer: "Take Control".

That all said, join me in the comments, with Fischer popping in from his perch at The Rock.  We're tightening up the rules a bit here during the postseason, but in a way softening a bit.  Outbursts of frustration may be a little more accepted.  Conversation with Flyers fans entering our humble abode is fine, but please keep from trolling.  You will still keep it clean, and no tangents beyond the scope of our discussion (i.e. Stanley Cup Playoff talk only).  All in all, have fun and go Devils.  Everyone I know, take control.

I’m in the Gateway Center. Only one Flyer fan spotted; its all Devils from what I’ve seen. But if you are coming up from the south, you’d probably drive anyway.

could you take pics of the crowd with a phone or anything? Broad Street Hockey are planning on the same to prove the large numbers of Flyers fans… not that we really care what they say or do, but it would be a nice counter-argument

I saw Gio almost end it in the third only to be tripped on a breakaway. As you can assume, no penalty was called and it was pretty obvious it was a trip.

Some bad calls/non calls

by undersuspicion426 on Apr 16, 2010 8:22 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

I feel like the Devils are a goal or two away from really building up some kind of confidence. This crowd seems ready to explode if the Devils could score a goal or two, which would completely shift the momentum. A lack of confidence and rushed plays go hand in hand in my eyes; once the devils score some goals and build some confidence, they will think with their heads instead of rushing plays.

by Tim G on Apr 16, 2010 8:23 PM EDT reply actions

The 4-on-3 wasn’t that bad, but again the PP isn’t threatening nearly enough and the Flyers capitalized on chances where they kept moving and were patient with the puck.

I will say I like what I’m seeing out of Parise, Elias, and Martin. I want Kovalchuk to calm down, drink some warm milk, and focus. He’s forcing way too much.

Plenty of hockey left, but the Devils need to have a good second. They can’t allow Philly to dictate the play like they did in Game 1.

One more thing: this IS a Devils dominant crowd. The Flyers are winning but their sparse numbers aren’t so loud. Yet. If the Devils don’t do something that inspires hope, you may hear some Booooooooooosh or whatever silly thing they want to say.

Devils survived early scares, had a roaring comeback. But the "interference " on Greene set up a 3-on-4 and Pronger’s tip takes the wind out of the crowd’s sails.

Devils need to calm down physically because these refs apparently picky. But keep up the pressure! They can win this game still.

The refs in Philly better be better

Any yokel could ref better than today.

Game over Devils win!!!!

I have to admit they had me worried tonight but the Devils prevailed. Marty outplayed Boucher and they offense was alive. They seemed to have that extra step tonight. Marty still could have played better but now maybe with a victory under his belt he will get back in form. I hope we can pull one out in Philly.. Go Devils…

Preds have scored twice in the 3rd to take the lead over the Hawks

Any preferences here?

Or just a “meh”?

Gotta go for the Hawks myself. Just never could get excited about Nashville. Thank Chris Tererri for that I guess.

I still have a special little spot in my reserved for Jason Arnott, and I hate the thought of Hossa getting his name on a Cup… so, I’m pulling for the Preds.

So Boucher went 9 years and 329 days between wins. What say the Devils start another similar streak for him :-)

I would like to think what Flyers fans thought about the game. I don’t think they played bad (opposed to the Devils playing bad in game 1 IMO). Devils were just the better team

From what I read

they don’t seem to mad about it (splitting the series and all)

Pretty much that they felt they were with us most of the way.

What they were really mad about was the 1 for 7 power play. That’s hideous no matter how you cut it.

They had 2 PP goals Giroux and Elbows McGee. It’s still bad, yes, only seven shots with the man advantage.

PP seem to be the stat for this series.

From what I read on the BSH, they didn’t like D-pairing of Parent-Bartulis

10 shots on the PP sry.. it was 7 opps.

I’m heading out. If the Devils continue to play the way they did today and take less penalties we could see a sweep in Philly.

Going to start a recap soon

It’s going to be late so in the meantime, check out this picture I posted.

It’s a crowd!

RECAP IS UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and read it. I’m going to bed soonish.

Things that the crowd did that ruled
The “Kill” Chant
Replacing the Rangers with Flyers in the traditional anti-Rangers chants…well some did this….well I did this it was cool
Chanting LGD before, during, and after the game over and over and over. Bringing it.
Not getting too down after the Flyers’ goals – mostly because NJ did at least something in each period.

Things that didn’t
The “Wave” at 2-2. No. Waves are for decisive leads.
