Mottau admitted that he "would have rather played "Tuesday if he had a say, but accepted Lemaire’s decision to sit him.
"The coaches decide to rest guys here and there and at this point in the saeson I take it as a positive," Mottau said. "Use the rest and then come back ready to go the last few games and into the playoffs."

I'm highlighting this quote from Gulitti's story about Jamie Langenbrunner breaking his silence because this is an entirely appropriate and reasonable way to look at it. Far better than Langenbrunner's response to being given a night off. To me, he came across as petulant by not talking to the media and in this post. It's uncharacteristic of him, it brings unnecessary attention on the team right before the playoffs, and he just doesn't look like a captain out of all of this.
Good thing it's over - I hope.
