Aside from the horrible loss to the Panthers tonight, I have lost faith in the home team.
The Devils have not given me any hope towards going deep in the playoffs. They have no killer instinct. They do not have the necessary ability to step on someone's throat when they have them in a vulnerable position. Defensively, they are very suspect right now...bad decisions, lazy passes, no effective body checking. Offensively, a very predictable team. Same old show...throw the puck in, try and cycle it (with horrible spacing among the 5 out on the ice), lose the puck and have to drop back or the other method they use...one player try and break in on their own and get denied at the blue line, causing an odd man rush the other way. I've been a fan since '92, so I can admit that our playoffs may go the way of the last few years...no further than the first round. I feel bad for Kovalchuk...maybe he's thinking he should have worked out a deal with the Thrashers.
Does anyone else want to see Jacques get a little ticked off at some point this season??? Instead, he just sits there with the "deer in the headlights" look.
