Conference Finals Predictions
So that was... interesting.
In the West are the 1 and 2 seeds, facing each other.
In the East are the 7 and 8 seeds.
I may be crazy, but I think a team from the East is going to win the Stanley Cup this year.
Scoring will be this, unless someone has any big objections...
3 points for guessing the right team and games, 2 points for guessing the right team.
No points for anything else. Ties are broken first by whichever person guessed more teams correct, and second by whoever has smaller games predicted difference (the absolute value of the +/- added up).
Results:
Willgfass: 3 rights (Canadiens, San Jose, Blackhawks), and guessed the games right with the Canadiens and Blackhawks, while I predicted San Jose would need 1 extra game. 8 points.
jweinstein: 1 right (Blackhawks). +1 games. 2 Points
Elesias: 3 right (Canadiens, San Jose +1, Canucks -1), guessed the Canadien's games right. 7 points
Nate1123504879: Exactly the same as Elesias. 7 Points
Skly27: Ouch, none right. 0 Points
Imperator Celtic: 3 right (Canadiens -2, Flyers, Sharks +1). 7 points.
RolliePollieKovy: Should be grateful I'm nice. Switched from Canucks to Hawks, so he gets 6 Points for also predicting the flyers right.
JuniorIRL: 2 right (Flyers -1, Blackhawks). 5 Points
joshd12: 2 right (Flyers -1, Blackhawks +1). 4 Points
So for this round:
1st: me with 8 points (yay!)
2nd: Two way tie for second with Elesias and Nate who predicted the same exact thing with 7 points,
3rd: Imperator Celtic in 3rd for being one more game off and 7 points
4th: RolliePollieKovy, 6 points
5th: JuniorIRL 5 Points,
6th: joshd12 4 Points
7th: Jweinstein 2 Points
8th: Skyly 0 Points.
So a question to everyone. When I add up the results from the first round, should I make these worth more since there's less games, or should every game correct be worth the same? And by extension, this rounds games be worth more than the two rounds before?

And Predictions for this round
Montreal over Flyers, 6 games
Hawks over San Jose, 7 games.
I’m expecting to go wrong with both of them.
And btw, I’m partial to making each round be worth more than the last, but I’ll go with whatever you guys want.

All you hear about is the past, the past... the past is the !@#$ing past, this is the present.
THIS IS TEMPORARY! A CHAMPIONSHIP IS PERMANENT
-Same as above
3 for 8 in the first round and 3 for 4 in the second (stupid Boston). Yep, just call me Mr. 500.
3rd round predictions:
Montreal uses its speed to burn Pronger like the US did in the Olympics, and Halak comes down to Earth but is still good enough – Habs in 6.
Chicago holds the regular season advantage, which, as we’ve seen, is a pretty strong indicator of how the playoffs will go, but San Jose seems possessed. Guys who have a history of not showing up for the post-season suddenly are. SJ has the better goaltending, and I believe greater scoring depth with the emergence of Pavelski. It’s a tough call, but I’m going with the Sharks in 7.

Just got home....
Hawks in 7
Habs in 6

Boy does Philly look great..
AS much as I hate them you have to admire their style of play. Briere will be a monster in this series. After I make the prediction…….

Ugh. 0-2.
Going with the Hawks in 5. Hoping for 4 just to get this season over with already.
For what it’s worth, next time a Flyers fan accuses the Devils of playing a boring trap, queue them up one of their games against Montreal.
