I linked this video to show him how he inspired so many Americans and also noted there are many more like that on youtube.

Then, my question was: what do you think is the key to player development in America, so the USA remains at the top for years to come?

I have respect for most sports fans with 2 exceptions: NY Ranger fans who grew up in New Jersey, and Dallas Cowboy fans who can't name the capital of Texas.

USA remains at the top? I think Canada is on the top of player development and in NHL players in general.

The U.S. has developed more players going into the draft every year

I don’t know it for a fact but I heard at the draft Americans were a hot comodity in the first and second rounds.

Well you could be right about having more overall. I just usually seem to remember the top five or six draft picks being around 50% Canadian and the others usually USA or Russia. I usually don’t pay to much attention after the first six picks unless its the Devils pick.

Yeah me too

I also pay attention to the Rangers and Flyers just to laugh mostly at the Rangers. I think more Canadien players were developed in the draft but USA IIHF beat the Canadiens.

Yes, I consider the Silver Medal to be "at the top"

“The top” does not have to mean a singular team. We were on the top of a podium in Vancouver . . . . and so were the Canadians and Finns.
