NHL National TV Schedule Released: The Results for the Devils
Today the NHL has released their National TV Schedule for the 2010-2011 NHL season. The Devils will be on National TV quite a few times this season, with competition varying from the most popular teams to the least popular teams (if not the least popular team in the league).
The Devils will could have up to three games on NBC's flex schedule: January 23rd against the Florida Panthers, March 20th against the Columbus Blue Jackets and April 10th against the Boston Bruins.
The Devils also feature 5 games on Versus that will be nationally televised: November 21st against the Capitals, January 4th against the Wild, January 26th against the Red Wings, February 22nd against the Stars, and April 5th against the Penguins.
While there are a lot of games on Hockey Night in Canada (CBC), The Devils make two appearances: February 6th and April 2nd, both games being against the Montreal Canadiens.
On TSN, the Devils will be featured three times: November 24th against the Flames, February 10th against the Maple Leafs and April 6th against the Leafs again. The Devils make a few more appearances on TSN2, but most of those games are also on Versus.

Wow
I’m excited I get to see the Devils in HD this year for a few games. Stupid Fios….

Fios has Versus in HD, and has for quite some time. At least, I’ve had Versus in HD for more than a year….
Agreed. I have Fios as well and its a pain in my butt not having a chance to watch the Devils play live in HD except for NBC games or Versus games. Definitely a reason for me to consider picking up Optimum for this year.

Yes
I know. I’ve watched the Devils in HD on Versus for a couple games. But never multiple times. And yeah my mistake on the schedule. The Devils will probably won’t get a game in on NBC. For the 4th straight year.

I think you want to clarify the NBC games
January 23, March 20, and April 10 are “flex-schedule” games, so the Devils might not get national coverage there. Given that the other listed NBC games on those respective dates are Philly-Chicago, Rangers-Pittsburgh, and Detroit-Chicago, it’s rather possible the Devils won’t get the “flex” selection.

it’s rather likely the Devils won’t get the "flex" selection.
Considering the 3 games we’re up against, I think you meant to say “likely,” not “possible.”

Fair enough. I’ve updated it all the same to make the correction.

19 Games, 3 in French...
Or I buy the expensive NHL Center ice package….
Go Devils!

Another Clarification
The game against Detroit will air on MSG Plus in this area. VERSUS has chosen a ton of “bonus” games this year that they will not produced, but simulcast nationally. However, the local market will be blocked out.
I’ll be doing what I always do: visit some websites that have free streams of games and watch whatever I can. Most Devils games are streamed by someone. I may never get HD aside from the Versus games, but at least I don’t feel compelled to pay for the ridiculously overpriced NHL Center Ice package or the “always blacked-out” and equally overpriced Gamecenter Live.
I just wish there were someway to pay a cable company to get the local New Jersey channels that play Devils’ games out here in SoCal. Most of the streams I find are of the opponents broadcast so I never get to hear Doc or Chico.
Feel bad for you guys
Optimum is the way to go if you can get it, virtually all the Devils games are shown live in HD with Optimum. Last season, I believe 3 games were not in HD, and only because they were bumped by both the Rangers and Islanders on MSG and MSG Plus, relegating the Devils to ‘3rd’ status for the night.
But njdss4 has the right idea, there is almost always a live feed being streamed. I wish I could get you guys these games live somehow.
