Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

NHLPA Rookie Showcase w/ Tedenby

His front teeth are still missing and his english got a tad bit better from his last interviews. its a short clip of him with other prospects, talking about something insignificant. but this is the most up to date look at our top high end prospect, even though he might notbe the first devil to crack the line up this year. im thinking he has a real nice shot if the nhl rejects kovys contract, but without a doubt since were thin right now on centers it's either henrique or josephson. i hope we see him opening day against dallas tho.

He looks like a vampire

Annddd hes wearing a Yankee hat. What not to like about him?!

Mathew Barnaby to Lyle Odelein: "Cornelius, as we like to call him, gets under your skin. Planet of the Apes. Look at him. Seriously. He looks like Cornelious."

Odelein to Barnaby: "He should take a look at his wife. She's God-awful to look at."

I am wondering what Tedenby’s role will be on the team. He reminds me a lot of Parise in terms of play. He seems a bit small for a third liner. Maybe he will switch to right and play on the first line with parise an zajac next year?

what humber was tedenby? right at the end with the shot of the whole group? i wanna say 36 but im not sure…can anyone tell?

46

You see on the (your) right side of his jersey number 4.

Mathew Barnaby to Lyle Odelein: "Cornelius, as we like to call him, gets under your skin. Planet of the Apes. Look at him. Seriously. He looks like Cornelious."

Man, I was looking at the left side of his jersey and thought it was 16 for a second. He has a good shot to make the NHL team so I thought he got a low number, and 16 would be a good one for him.

Dear Brian Rolston, please waive your no trade clause and leave New Jersey. Love, everyone.

Every rookie has a high number. I see Tedenby wearing 11 or 14.

I love how Lou has a restriction on anyone other than an established free agent veteran, like Mogilny, from wearing any number greater than 30.

by kellyn on Sep 2, 2010 8:14 PM EDT up reply actions

And Gilmour

Danis and Clemmer were the last to wear anything higher then 30. Oh and Corrente wearing 32

im not sure if its true…but doesnt lou have a rule that you cant wear a # over 30? given the fact clemmer and danis were but not a single forward is…minus corrente for a few games

by Devils1192 on Sep 2, 2010 9:41 PM EDT up reply actions

He’ll allow backup goalies to wear numbers in the 30s, most often 31 and 35. Generally, however, he’ll keep skaters at 29 and below, unless it is a vested veteran with a history of wearing a higher number. For example, Alexander Mogilny got to keep #89, and Stephane Richer wore #44 in both of his stints with the club.

I imagine there will have to be a little give on this issue in the future, considering the numbers already retired (#3, #4) and the ones that are in line to receive the same treatment (#26, #30, maybe even #27 in the near future). Although, it shouldn’t be as bad as the Yankees, who have to give numbers in the 60s to roster players early in the season for lack of other numbers to wear.

yeah i was thinking about that and i was wondering "theres only a certain amount of #s available….what #s do u think tedenby and josefsson will wear?
i feel tedennby will wear #11 and josefsson will wear like 14 or something cause ive seen him with 40 in the swedish league

by Devils1192 on Sep 3, 2010 9:34 AM EDT up reply actions

He idolizes Zetterberg so..

Probably 14. He won’t get 40 though.

I don’t think it’s so hard a rule, at least for the 30’s. I’m thinking I remember a couple players wearing #40 as well.

Pat Conacher was 32 for years as well, but perhaps at least partially B.L. (Before Lou)

Gotta love how he's the only one who doesn't look like a pretty boy

With two teeth knocked out we know someone likes to get down and dirty when they play

Not like Josefson, with the slicked backed hair and soft-like face.

call me oldskool, but I like my hockey players to take out their teeth before a game, to look like they just won a bareknuckle fight with a grizzly, and to play like the entire other team just called his momma a whore and are taking his sister to the prom.

i miss the good ole days
