Colin White's homecoming
the San Jose Sharks flew into Newark New Jersey today from San Jose in order to adjust to the time difference, in anticipation of their game against the New Jersey Devils on Friday. Former Devil Colin White, who had his contract bought out by the Devils over the summer prior to being signed to a 1 year contract with the Sharks, was able to rejoin his wife and children in New Jersey.
David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News reported Sharks defenseman Colin White looking forward to going home to New Jersey today. Colin Whites wife and kids, who were already enrolled in schools and sports programs in New Jersey, remained in the state after White signed with the Sharks.
White told Pollack that he holds no hard feelings toward the Devils and general manager Lou Lamoriello. "We have a great relationship," White said. "It wasn't all of a sudden for me as it was for the media and whatnot. We had talked for about a month. It wasn't personal. At the end of the day it was a business decision. The longer you play in the league, the more you realize that."
The Sharks are starting a 13 day road trip with their game against New Jersey on Friday. They are 1-3-0 in 4 games so far this season, and looking to get back on track. White, who has played in all 4 games so far, is -1 with 0 points. "there's no beating around the bush. I have to be better. I haven't been playing that well," White said.
According to SBNation's Fear the Fin Sharks blog, their AHL affilliate Worcester Sharks defeated the Albany Devils in their home opener yesterday. Here's to hoping that the big boys at the NHL level are able to get some payback in a couple of days.

I admit
I wasn’t the biggest fan of White later on in his tenure with NJ. But he did help get 2 cups and seems to remain loyal to the organization. I hope he gets a relatively warm welcome back tomorrow night.
Diablos 122 has agreed to cheer him in the beginning of the game – (I hope it messes him up emotionally and forgets an assignment early for a quick 1-0 lead)

What do you think the chances are he forgets he’s a Shark after spending his entire career with us and nets an own goal?

It would be awesome to watch Gomez do that. I remember a few years back hearing an announcer criticize him for being completely unable to shoot. It was so crazy, it was like he refused to take shots…even on a breakaway all alone he would derp out and make a drop pass to…nobody…so sad.
And as for Avery – I wish him best of luck in the AHL for the remainder of his pointless career.

Uh, thanks for the news report? I’d be more interested if you went at some length on what do you think about this or how you perceive White to be doing, etc. We can all read the news, but what’s, like, your opinion, man?
Devils in my heart! Devils in my mind! Devils in my eyes! Devils until I die!

Yea I grew up watching the Riverrats which made me a devils fan. I wanted to go to boston to see White play against the Bruins. When I took of the pictures of the warmups he wasnt dressed. It sucked that he was one of my favorite players and he didnt dress for the game. But even though he didnt dress it was still a good game and the bruins lost so I was happy.
