This season marks the second straight year of the debate between me and my roommate over whether or not Nick Palmieri looks funny wearing a helmet or not.

As you can probably imagine, this is a very important argument. I'm adamant that there's something not right with either the shape of Palmieri's head or the size of his helmet, and my roommate doesn't notice any difference between the way Palmieri's helmet looks on his head compared to any other Devil.

That's where you guys come in. I'm looking for honest opinions here. Without using the picture I linked to sway you in any way, have you yourself noticed in the past that something looks funny? Or do you think I'm a moron/insane.

I have always thought he looked odd as well. Just my opinion.

Thank you all for restoring some of my sanity. I like the hair idea too, and I should have originally posted that helmet-less picture as well to make it a fair comparison.

Yeah looks to me like either the helmet is weird or maybe the dude just has a giant head. Unfortunately that doesn’t lead to him being a smarter hockey player so lesson learned big head does not equal large brain.

Not fair to make fun of the guy but i do not like Palms on the top line or anywhere near it at this point in his career and especailly now that Parise is centering Kovy. He doesn’t compliment them at all in my opinion i would throw big old Zubrus in there for his size and ability to work down low or Teddy for his play-making, puck control, and blinding speed.

Haha thanks for the input, I don’t think you’re making fun of him and it wasn’t my intention either. I would say the same thing if it was Parise or anyone else for that matter. It’s just a fun debate and I think he looks normal without a helmet regardless.

I think most fans agree that Palmieri shouldn’t be on the top line, but maybe we should give it a few more games to see if Parise being up there changes anything.

I still hope it works out great as is now, but if not that Lou first considers Palmieri may be the problem instead of the Kovy/Parise combo. In this case I’d reallllly like to see Zharkov on our top line.

It looks like he was driving a car and slammed on his breaks and the rest of him stopped but the top of his helmet kept moving forward an extra few inches…if that analogy makes any sense whatsoever
