Just kidding. But just imagine how great it would be if we had no worries about our salary cap for the rest of the season. Sign Avery, then ruin his career by making him a healthy scratch for the rest of the year. Sorry Fraser or Pelley, but we just can't risk him being picked up on waivers to the minors. He's just too valuable during practice because who else is better suited for Volchenkov to practice his hip check on?

That would be worse than when the Bulls signed John Starks..

I vomited a little in my mouth when he played for them (as a Bulls fan)..
Although if the Devils didn’t play him, and the team hazed him every day, it would be pretty hilarious. He can spend the rest of his hockey career as a luggage porter.

With Vladimir Zharkov in the minor leagues, there’s absolutely no reason for Avery to be picked up by NJ.

Could they demote him all the way to the ECHL if they claimed him? The though of him being shipped off to Kalamazoo warms my heart.
