... but the other things he has to say are not as kind. He predicts we barely scratch our way into the playoffs (if we do make it) [kind of a copout] and that Parise is lost either at the deadline or through free agency.

Bruce Boudreau won’t last the season with the Caps despite saying that their D has caught up to their offense and that this could be the best Caps team yet if the offense plays as expected
Buffalo will lead the Eastern Conference in goal scoring
TB to make hte playoffs by a margin of Nate Thompson

I find it incredibly hard to take these predictions anywhere close to seriously

Philadelphia will miss the playoffs. I can see them dropping off from last season with all the roster churning, but this is still a deep and talented team.

Winnipeg will make the playoffs. I can buy that they’ll be buoyed to some degree by a wildly enthusiastic home crowd, but their travel schedule is brutal. At least to me, this team has “quick start” and “hits the wall hard in mid-season, never to get back up off the mat” written all over it.

I like Buccigross and his work. But I don’t know that I can take his picks that seriously, either.
