Hahah. I can’t answer because I honestly feel Zharkov is not a 4th liner. Maybe in ten years he will be a Brylin or Pandolfo, but not now. I consider a 4th liner someone who only belongs on the 4th line throughout their entire career, and that’s why Cam is still my favorite Devil 4th liner from recent memory.
I tend to think of him as the current incarnation of Sarge. Not the flashiest or the biggest or the best, but he is versatile and he works his butt off when he’s out on the ice.

Zharkov was great defensively in the 2nd half last season. Not good, GREAT!
At least that’s what my eyes told me, maybe the numbers tell a different story.
Can he play that way without Lemaire? I hope so.
na-na-na-na HEY! You SUCK!!
He’s quick and usually has sound positioning. He just can’t seem to finish whatsoever whenever he has the puck on his stick (just like Pandalfo). Under Lemaire they utilized his skillset to become one of the Devils better defensive forwards and penalty killers.
I think he sort of knows that’s how he’s going to stick with the team and in the NHL, as a defensive forward.
He needs to put the puck in the net
On the plus side, clearly compared to Pelley, Mills or Jansen at least Zharkov give us a chance to score. In my view we urgently, urgently need 4th line scoring. However, I continue to be puzzled by everyone’s love of this guy. He has not been able to score goals if his life depended on it. I don’t know why anyone thinks that is going to change. I hope he proves me wrong, but to me if he doesn’t add some scoring punch I would give him no more than 10 games. I would give Sislo or Whitney a shot after that.

Perhaps you should try rereading the comments? Maybe then you’ll realize his ability to score goals (or lack thereof) is not why a majority of us like him and glad that he’s been recalled.

He hasn’t done anything worth all this praise.
