Since our disastrous first half last season, almost every article in reference to the Devils somehow refers to the fact that they were 9-22-2 last season under MacLean (blah blah blah, MacLean fired, blah blah blah Lemaire turnaround, blah blah blah missed playoffs for first time in 15 seasons).
It's time we, at In Lou We Trust, as an unofficial voice for the NJ Devils, make the choice to move past these references. This season is still young, but, it is a new season with new players, a new identity, and most importantly, a new coach. Peter Deboer had nothing to do with last seasons' collapse. To make note of last season is important when discussing a particular statistic, but, to flower an article with the struggles of the MacLean era is not needed.
It is always important to remember the past, but to constantly reference last season when making a point about the 2011-2012 Devils detracts, in my opinion, from an article's quality.
