ILWT Reader Group Trip to Devils Away Game(s)
Each season I like to attend a few Devils away games with a couple of buddies. I've been to Boston and Long Island so far this season, and I'll be in Montreal with 6 others next weekend and for the fourth consecutive year in a row to see Marty put on a show in front of his “hometown” crowd. (Be sure to look/listen for us on TV, and also look to see if Gulitti makes mention in his blog/twitter of how loud/vocal [obnoxious] a group of Devils fans at the Bell Centre are.(We're 2 for 3 so far!))
Away games are always a great experience, and I'm sure a lot of you have already been to many of these games yourselves, and thus can probably attest to how much fun they are. But one thing I've found is that as great as the experience of attending these games can be, it's made even better when you're accompanied by more than a few other Devils fans. Basically, I think the saying of “the more the merrier” really applies for these types of games.
With that being said and without knowing if this has legitimately been tried/accomplished before, I wanted to create this FanShot to gauge ILWT reader interest in a group trip to see a Devils away game. So, if you've thought about this before or are interested in it at all, please post about your willingness and make some suggestions as to potential games you'd like to see us attend. The Devils schedule is linked to below for your convenience. I know I would really enjoy this trip and would consider it a success if we could get at least ~10 people to commit to attending. I have 2 friends who will come regardless of where we decide, so we're already starting at 3.
Before you post your suggestions, and to clear some things up personally, I just wanted to clarify that I don't see this trip being a major one. What I mean by this is that I'd like to keep our options open to an away game that would also allow us to complete the round-trip in the same day. I'm not against having it be longer or needing a hotel, I just think that this is my first attempt at this and it might be easier/more attractive to people if we attended a game in areas such as Washington, Philly, NYC, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Boston, Long Island, etc. But by all means, if you think the interest would be there and would like to suggest a trip of a larger scale, then feel free to post it.
So I'll shut up for now, and if you're interested please post your availability/suggestions below. Or, if you're an out of market Devils fan who would like to recommend your city and would enjoy being accompanied to an away game by a decent sized group, then feel free to post as well!

Sounds like a cool idea
but unless you feel like driving down to Dallas, I don’t think there’s a viable away game for me to get to
Status quo.
We could crash MSG/Philly………
DownGoesAvery is a bizarre hockey blog: Down Goes Avery and on Twitter (@DownGoesAvery ).
Down Goes Avery on Facebook
Id really like this! I live in CT so close to either boston or long island even msg….I have plenty of bruins friends it gets kind of old going to those road games as the only Devils fan…

I like the idea. Money is a factor though and places like msg are rather expensive.
Also just something slightly off topic to think about; when you say
“I’ll be in MTL to see Marty put on a show in front of his "hometown" crowd”
if i’m not mistaken the night before that game is Scott Niedermayer night. I’m sure Marty would very much like to start that game as well considering the rock will be packed. I’m not sure how plausible him starting back to back games would be, but it’ll be interesting to see how they handle the goalie schedule for those two games.
Yeah MSG may be expensive. What would you think about Philly?
I have no idea about your Marty question although it’s a good point. Even though he’s getting older and Moose is playing unbelievable, frankly I’d be shocked if Marty didn’t start both of those games. Montreal is his stomping ground, where he’s put on some of his most dominating performances, and Neidermayer was his teammate for so many years and multiple cup championships.
Toronto always has a fairly decent showing of devs fans, spread out throughout the entire arena. Tickets are pretty pricey, though.

Long Island is cheap and a short drive
And always thousands of other Devils fans in the arena.
The Devils have won more titles than all Philly pro sports teams combined in the last 25 years
