Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Will Never Top Michael Jordan

Seeing as we all have a great respect for our Uncle Lou-cifer, I thought I'd share this little tidbit.

Wow...

Im glad that Lou has confidence in the team and (atleast publicly) says he think the Devils can still make it, but that is a bold statement. He doesnt usually come out and say things like that. Jason Arnott talked about how much he liked New Jersey when he got traded here last season and I genuinely believed him. I think its a little disrespectful that he would do that.

Disrespectful? Maybe a little bit. But what else does one expect Lou to have said?

Lou can’t come out and say “I think we have no chance”, because the logical follow-up then becomes why more players weren’t dealt. Lou can’t say “I don’t like what we have here”, because that would lead to the question of why there wasn’t a significant blow-up made.

This isn’t that big a story, to me. He said what he had to say in response to a direct question from one of the beat writers. Perhaps he should have simply evaded the question, but I give him full points for being direct and honest (if he was being honest).

Oh no, I dont think its a big story here either. I thought it seemd a little disrespectful, but terribly. Also Lou wouldnt have traded Arnott if he didnt think the team was going to get better by doing it.

Of course he thought the team would be better for it in the long run, as arnott had a very low percentage of staying in the off season with the cap situation. That doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a bit shocking for him to subtly say David Steckel>Jason Arnott, at least for this team.

Very bold.

In Lou We Trust/Twitter
I wish there was something I could do. But What?

Anyone notice the Parise tidbit on the bottom?

That he could be skating soon?

I have respect for most sports fans with 2 exceptions: NY Ranger fans who grew up in New Jersey, and Dallas Cowboy fans who can't name the capital of Texas.

They’ve been talking about this doctor’s meeting for weeks now. It’ll pretty much determine whether there is any chance of him playing again this season or not.
