Lou Lamoriello Interview: Speaks about Devils on Toronto's FAN 590
The Thursday interview was hosted by Greg Brady (not that one) and Doug MacLean (no relation) on Hockey Central. A thorough interview on the teams turnaround, the Arnott trade (and Josefson), Marty, Parise's new contract (with a Lou type response), the ownership, and other NHL related issues.

I listened to this a couple days ago, lous answer is interesting, it went like this " So are you resigning Zach Parise?" Lou goes " Next question"
I think that he just doesn’t answer the question because he’ll come out of no where and do something amazing with him. Like get a 5-6mil cap hit, which for Parise is PHENOMENAL. But I do remember reading somewhere not too long ago saying that Lou will not let Parise get to offer sheet eligibility. He’s just waiting until the season ends so he can truly get make an offer to Zach that equals how he has played over the course of his current contract. He’s not gonna overpay him in such a drastic way that we will have cap problems again.
Parise ain't going anywhere.
It’s just a question of how much the hurt will be. I reckon the Kovy contract snufu gives clearer guidance as to that part, and I’m guessing the Kovy-led season comeback puts Parise and the Devils on common ground as to their next 8-10 years together.
exactly.
Lou won’t let a natural homegrown talent like Parise go. With older guys like Brodeur and Elias nearing the end of their careers, Parise is the ideal guy to build the future of the team around, especially after locking up Kovy for the rest of his career.

No, he’s not. He’s got several more good years in him, God willing. But, everybody wears their wear and tear differently. In the meantime, let’s hope he teaches Palmieri and Josefson everything about everything.
As a side note, if you look at the 1994 Entry Draft, you’ll see a whole lot of nobodies and journeymen were picked before Saint Patrick was, at #51 (at the tail end of the 2nd round).
Ding ding ding!

I wish there was something I could do. But What?
