What would be a fair trade for the Devils to land Mike Green?

Stay connected for news and updates

On espn.com, I saw an article that discussed the possibility of the Washington Capitals dealing Mike Green. This was not a rumor, but rather an evaluation of Green's performance with the Caps and a few likely trading partners if General Manager George McPhee was to pull the trigger. This can be found here

Though I do not believe Washington would deal Green, I immediately thought he would be a nice fit for the Devils. He will carry a heavy price, but he may be the offensive minded defenseman we have been looking for since Neidermayer and Rafalski left. In addition, he would be yet another powerplay quarterback who may be able to solve our problems with the man-advantage.

Green carries a cap hit of $5.25 million and is a UFA via capgeek. He is a restricted free agent after this season.

What do you think?

Would you like to see a player like Green come to NJ?

At what price?
