Sykora not only scored, but looked ‘in control’ on the ice, directing guys on where to go and where to be, rallying the team and seemingly, having younger guys come to him to ask for advice in between plays and on the bench. I say he has a real shot to make the team with Zajac’s injury, at least as a safety valve for Josefson.
Speaking of JJ, seeing him kill penalties was a welcome sight, what better way to ingrain a defensive mindset to a young player than throwing him out on the 1st PK unit. Didnt look like he was out of place at all, nice to see.
msg.com has a couple of videos from last night’s game. Lamoriello interview; Parise 2nd intermission interview; and the recap of the game by Sam, Joe and Chico*
