What are you looking forward to?

With camp well underway, I wanted to see what you guys are most looking forward to this NHL season.

When a season begins, there are many things to look forward to. While the Devils are my favorite team. there are many other players and teams I am looking forward to seeing playing in the coming months. I wanted to ask everyone else what non-Devils issues they are looking forward to the most this year. Ill start first.

1. New Look Teams: Several teams had significant makeovers during the offeseason. Ones that come to mind include Philadelphia and Columbus. It is always interesting to see how teams that have had significant additions and subtractions play. I think it would be cool to see Columbus improve. Many feel that if they were in the east they would probably make the playoffs.

2. Preseason hockey: Dont get me wrong, nothing beats a regular season or playoff nhl game, but the preseason has some benefits as well. First, its a great chance to see some of the prospects of the team and get a good look of some of the future members of the Devils. Second, the atmosphere is much more casual and laid back. I like that I can go to a game, not get emotionally invested in it and still have fun. If youve ever been to a preseason game, youll probably notice that everyone attending is much more pleasant then during a regular season game. Finally its the fights. Ill admit that Im a fan of fighting in the NHL, and during the preseason you will see a lot of that.

3. Will Brad Richards sink or swim? Many people believe that New York is where all careers go to die. In regards to the big free agent signing the Rangers have made in the past decade, Id have to say that's accurate. This could be the exception though. As much as I hate the Rangers, as a hockey fan I am eager to see how Brad will play under Tortorella this time, as well as if he will have good chemistry with Marian Gaborik. Being that he was the big free agent this past summer, I am interested to see how he plays under his new contract.

4. The Return of Jaromir Jagr: When Alex Ovechkin was drafted he said "God sent me here to play hockey." Upon hearing this Jaromir Jagr said "I didnt send anybody." I saw this online when he signed with the Flyers and thought it was funny. In all seriousness, I cant wait to see my favorite player of all time play in the NHL again. He may have an ego, he may only play when hard when he wants. but hes still one of the greatest offensive players the game has ever seen and I hate to see how so many NHL fans have been knocking him as well as Philly for signing him. Its bittersweet since he signed with a rival, but I really hope he proves all the haters wrong. He always played for rival teams which stinks, but I cant knock him for it totally since he was drafted by Pitt, traded to Washington, then traded to New York. As a fan of the Devils I root for New Jersey as my favorite  but as a fan of the nhl I root for him as my favorite player. Thats why this is the thing I am most excited for this season.

What are you guys excited for the most?
