Tom Gulitti reported today on Fire & Ice that DeBoer called today’s first practice ‘group’ close to what the opening night roster will be. Here is that group:

Forwards: Zach Parise-Patrik Elias-Petr Sykora; Ilya Kovalchuk-Jacob Josefson-Nick Palmieri; Mattias Tedenby-Adam Henrique-David Clarkson; Eric Boulton-David Steckel-Rod Pelley

Defensemen: Andy Greene-Adam Larsson; Anton Volchenkov-Anton Stralman; Henrik Tallinder-Mark Fayne; Mark Fraser,

Goaltenders: Martin Brodeur, Johan Hedberg.

Add Salvadore and Zubrus – who are nursing injuries – and that is the 23 man roster. Obviously it’s not set in stone but that looks to be it.

I don’t know what to think of that 3rd line. I would like to say that I like it…but I feel like Clarkson would be out of place and I don’t know if he can handle covering the mistakes the kids make.

Who do you think gets bumped when Salvadore and Zubrus come back?

My guess would be Stralman and probably Henrique unless he really gels with his linemates.
