Talking Red Live - 1/10/2012 - 7:30 - 9 PM - Show Details

Promoted to the front page because it's tonight. It may be a trainwreck, it may go smoothly, but you don't want to miss it either way.

On Tuesday, January 10th, we at Talking Red, David Sarch, Ryan Lucas, and John Fischer will be recording a live episode. The recording will take place from 7:30-9 PM. The episode will be in addition to the normal weekend episode and will be a recap of the first half of the season.

Since this will be done live, listeners will have the ability to either submit questions or call in and ask questions. We will be taking any questions you may have about the New Jersey Devils. After the jump is a short FAQ on how this will event will go. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to ask them in the comments.

What service will you be using to do this live episode?

For this episode, we will be using TalkShoe. TalkShoe is a service that allows people to listen to or join live discussions.

How can I participate?

There are a few ways you can participate. On the day of the show we will provide a direct link to the live discussion. As a listener, you can go there and and hear the episode as it is happening. There is also a live chat client on Talkshoe where you can submit questions for the panel to answer. You can also interact with other listeners, speaking about what the panelists are saying.

Additionally, you can also call in with a question. The number will be provided the day of the show. When you call in, you'll be muted at first and then we will then call on you to ask your question. After your question is answered you will be muted again, so feel free to hang hup..

If you are going to be away from a computer or don't have speakers, you will be able to listen to the entire show over the phone. Alternatively, the show will be recorded so you can listen to it later.


Who will be participating in the call?

So far, Talking Red regulars David Sarch and Ryan Lucas, as well as In Lou We Trust writers John Fischer and Tom Stivali are scheduled to take part in this show. Also, you (possibly)!

Don't the Devils have a game that night?

Yes, they do. Since the game is in Calgary, it will not be starting until 9:30 PM EDT. The call is scheduled to take place from 7:30-9pm so you won't miss a moment of Deb Placey and the Devils pregame show, much less the game.

I live overseas, can I still call in?

Yes, you can still call in. However, calling the phone number from Skype or a VoIP system will cost money. Let us know in advance and we can work on a specific time to help reduce any cost. Alternatively, you can submit a question through the chat client and listen for free.

Do I need to install any programs on my computer to participate?

No, you do not. TalkShoe is a web based service so you should not need to download any particular software to have your say.

If I'm busy on Tuesday and/or I can't participate, can I still ask questions and listen to the episode?

Yes! You can always submit questions to TalkingRed at gmail dot com up until the time of recording. The episode will also be posted like a normal episode in the days following the show.

This will be the first time we're doing this, so we hope to be as smooth as possible. If it works out well, who knows, we may do it again sometime. If not, then at least we tried. In any case, if you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to ask them in the comments.
