Flyers Center Danny Briere was concussed during last night’s game
I don’t root for injuries, even to clowns like Briere, but it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Jagr was also injured during the game. We may have lost the game, but are winning the battle of attrition!
Even with all their injured players not counting, the Flyers are a deeper and more talented team than the Devils right now. Which makes one shudder to imagine how much better our Second Rate Rivals would be if they were fully healthy.
Personally, I think they’re the team that comes closest to the Boston Bruins if they have everyone relevant in the lineup.
To be fair the devils aren’t fully healthy either. we could have used Greene, Zajac, and even Tallinder yesterday. Our defense is Salvador, Volchenkov, and the rest all rookies. (I’m still counting Fayne as a rookie.) So of course at times the D is going to be picked apart.

Why say “even Tallinder”? Tallinder is one of our better if not best defenseman and I don’t know everyone seems to hate him. He plays a lot of minutes, he plays against the other team’s top forwards, and he does a good job playing defense. He isn’t a great offensive player, but he manages to get an assist every once in a while and he is capable of moving the puck out of his end. Plus, I always was under the impression that defenders should be able to defend, and Tallinder is good at doing that.
There is nothing quite as satisfying as out running security after you've punched out a Flyers fan!

tough love for Henrik. The guy’s facing teams best lines night in and night out.

Everyone underestimates Tallinder’s importance to this team. I think if the team struggles w/o #7 everyone will stop complaining about him.

Agreed. I don’t know how he’s now the new Colin White.

I think jagr was a late scratch before the game. But Briere was punching Elias in the back repeatedly before Elias got back up and smacked him one. Although it wasn’t related to the injury, Elias was justified in doing that.

He had 4 shifts for 3:12, so it’s easy to understand why it seems like he didn’t play at all, but he did suit up.
