smh @ Burke.
Lots of complaints and minor jabs at Lou, but I’m not sure how that guy even thinks he can write a book on building a winning team. Lou is happy winning in front of 5,000 people? I can’t even touch that quote with any amount of restraint.
Sorry, that article alone just ruined by “buttered toast” for breakfast. What a tool.

Lou built a team that won 3 Stanley Cups.
Burke stepped into a team and won the Cup in his second year, so he didn’t build the team, he inherited most of the parts. Not to mention the gift of having Rob Neidermayer on his team to lure Scott away from us.
I’ll take curmudgeonly Lou over boisterous Brian any day of the week.

LOU IS ABOUT WINNING.
I’d rather see us win 1-0 than lose 7-6 any day. The best entertainment is a win.
na-na-na-na HEY! You SUCK!!
Exactly. If winning means you have to keep your hair short to be on Lou’s team and adhere to a strict code of conduct, is it not worth it?
Clearly Burke's way of doing things is so much better.

Lou would have won a Cup in Toronto by now if he took over the same time Burke did.
na-na-na-na HEY! You SUCK!!
But Lou makes players do things like practice hard and asks players to perform dumb tasks like taping the knobs of their sticks so it doesn’t cost our team a goal while they’re trying to collect a dropped stick.
He's such a bad GM.

Sounds like Steinbrenner...
…and it seemed to work out for him…
Well, not entirely. After some early successes during his reign, Big Stein had about a 13-year lapse in postseason appearances.

Small crowds are just fine. No lines in the bathrooms or for beer.
There is nothing quite as satisfying as out running security after you've punched out a Flyers fan!

Yeah, because surely Toronto’s arena is full because of Brian Burke… not because it is a huge city that is completely crazy about hockey.
Status quo.
I think that’s the key thing, here.
As someone else pointed out, Burke inherited the Ducks and now he’s at a hockey-crazed town.
His observations and quips are without value. But, neither are they particularly damaging. Everybody knows Lou is a bit stodgy, not a showman predisposed to blathering on, gossipping about his colleagues.

50/50!
So in one breath Rich Chere says we should “relax, (Parise) won’t be traded.”. Then in the next sentence he says its only 50/50 that he stays! I’m sorry but if the chances of him staying are THAT low, he has to go now while we can still get something for him. It makes no sense to hang on to him all season just to lose him to the Red Wings for nothing this summer.

Just a figure of speech bro…
Seriously though, that is very confusing on Chere’s part.

I had to. Excellent points by Gianetti all joking aside though.

I find it rather funny how the Negative Nancies come out in full force during a slump, and how forum fights seem to break out all the time about how it’s the end of the world for the Devils.
I’m happy though that we at least have a fair amount of people who don’t go crying that the sky is falling because we’re not 48-0-0.
Atlantic City
Weird little piece on Atlantic City, there. I guess that’s their shore blogger. At least he mentioned the taxis/ jitneys to keep people safe.
But, I didn’t know AC was hosting the ECAC tourney in March. That’s cool. It’s a bitfar south from most of those ECAC schools but I guess it means AC will be full of private school kids for a few days.
