I was just watching the Devils vs Bruins game and I had to stop watching. 1) because the score was at the time 4-1 and 2) Our defense is TERRIBLE. So many people come on criticizing Brodeur that he should not play as much or that he should retire. I believe that he is not the problem. The Devils "defense" (if you want to call it that) is not playing up to the typical Devils standards. Adam Larsson had 2 costly plays that lead to 2 goals, the 4th and last Bruins goal I saw it went past at least 3 Devils not including Brodeur. This defense is VERY leaky. Brodeur is doing all he can to stop these never ending shots. While his stats this season may not show this I am highly confident that if the Devils had some high quality defensemen like Chara, Lidstrom, Seabrook, Orpik, or Pronger, Brodeur's stats would be better. We have second class defensemen. I love the Devils and Brodeur and what we have done in the past but if we want to do that again we need a dominating defense. The pairings we have now will not get the Devils a 4th cup. Also while I'm on this rant the forwards need to do a better job with their defensive assignments. The whole defensive side of the puck is not good at all. I understand that Marty has let up some softys but most of the goals have been the defenses fault. Marty is only human. He needs help. So lets stop bashing him and look at the real problem. The TEAM defense. I'm sorry I had to rant on my team like this but I felt it was necessary. I'm tired of people turning to Brodeur saying its his fault. Let's hope the organization sees this soon. Let's Go DEVILS!!!!!
