Henrique, who has been playing with the Albany Devils of the AHL during the lockout, has an issue with a ligament on his left thumb that will require surgery. The club indicated that he'll be out for at least a month, which isn't great news for the Devils even though the league is in a lockout.
The 22-year-old Henrique tallied 16 goals and 35 assists in his rookie season, including
two Game 7 playoff series winners against the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers, making him only the second rookie to score a series-deciding goal in overtime in the playoffs, and the only person ever to do it twice.
He's the second New Jersey player to be injured playing elsewhere during the lockout, as defenseman Anton Volchenkov broke a bone in his foot playing for Torpedo Nizhny Novrogod in the KHL in October.
