Alternate version of Kovy-ing
For when you’re near a Flyers fan:

Disclaimer: Violence is never the answer kiddies… unless Zac Rinaldo is involved, then have at it.
Status quo.
There should be a league-wide understanding that it is perfectly acceptible to slew-foot any asshat in a Rinaldo jersey at any time under any circumstance, including Zac Rinaldo himself.
I’m not going to lie to you. It felt good and I’m going to do whatever is in my power possible to stay there as long as I can. - Petr Sykora on playing on a line with Elias and Parise.
PDB "system" article
I think it’s an understatement to say that’s just a PDB system article.
If we include Kovy’s continued praise to the quotes in the article, we see team leadership which believes PDB has the right communicative skills, lots of respect for his players, and an interest in bringing them along with him to understand the system.
Managerially, PDB understands how to build the team rapport. Cheers to him.
There are other coaches around the league (Tortarella, Boudreau, maybe Quenneville?) who are better known for barking orders than building good rapport and team unity.
I think this bodes well for the Parise re-negotiation.

And PDB’s future. Me thinks we may have a coach here for more than a year.

Oh god, I hope so.
We can’t have it all, right now and right away. The Cup will come back to New Jersey. After articles like that… I leads me to believe PDB, Parise, Kovalchuk, and Elias can bring it back if they get the right puzzle pieces to fit. Actually, they might already have them between NJ, Albany, and the college standouts.

Per TG, it looks like Palmieri will play tonight.
4th line of Boulton – Josefson – Palmieri
Maybe thay can score a goal…
NaPalms gets his shot to prove he belongs here. Hope he does. He’s got the body to get in front of the net, and JJ can get it that way. Boulton can, ummm, stay out of the way?

NaPalms gets his umpteenth shot to prove he belongs here.
All of these chances, yet he doesn’t like to prove himself much. I’m starting to worry he’s going to be the second coming of Matt Corrente.

indeed, thanks for fixing. I wonder how many more he’s going to get, and if that ole “change of scenery” thing is being tossed around in the front office as the deadline gets closer.

It’s silly to trade Palmieri, as the Devils have nothing close to him in the system. His skill set is still pretty rare even if he himself isn’t that good a player – if he were exposed to waivers next year, I wouldn’t be too surprised if someone picked him up.

Why down on Nick?
First of all, Corrente was a first round pick so his expectations were a little different.
Also, Corrente is a year and a half older and hasn’t had any NHL succes, yet. Palmieri had a decent stint in the NHL last year.
I think management wants to see him use his size more.
Best case scenario, Palms could turn into a poor man’s Clarkson. And you’re right about his size. Could have been a sophomore slump at the start which killed his confidence.
Anyone but Janssen if you ask me.
