The Game: The New Jersey Devils (40-25-5) vs. the Colorado Avalanche (38-30-4)
The Previews: My preview from earlier today is right here; please go check it out if you haven't done so already. For the opposition's point of view, check out Cheryl Bradley's short preview post at Mile High Hockey.
A Song for Tonight: For reasons I do not know, youth crew hardcore had a kind of revival in the late 1990s. Most of that started from Boston-based bands Ten Yard Fight and In My Eyes, but one straight edge band from New Jersey has been part of that initial charge: Floorpunch. From their 1998 album Fast Times at the Jersey Shore, this is "Always."
Gameday Info: Good news from Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice this morning: Travis Zajac skated with the team. He won't play tonight, but he's definitely getting closer now he got the OK to practice. In this afternoon post, Gulitti reports the Devils will use the same lineup from Tuesday's game tonight. That means Martin Brodeur is starting while Cam Janssen and Matt Taormina are sitting. Adrian Dater of the Denver Post confirms that Jean-Sebastien Giguere will be the starter for Colorado tonight.
As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic, and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). I'll provide the occasional comment here as well as a tweet here and there at @InLouWeTrust from my seat in Section 1, Row 16, Seat 5. Go Devils!
