According to Tom Gulitti, the New Jersey Devils will keep there first round draft pick. At first, this seems rather barbaric, considering the Devils currently hold the second to last pick in the draft; a draft in which many have already dubbed weak depth wise. Whether the latter is true, I have no idea. I've only studied a few prospects from this draft class; namely Gaunce, Subban etc.

However, what if Lamoriello's reason for keeping this pick was to package it along with another asset (C level Prospect) , for the rights to Ryan Suter?

Suter and Parise have a bromance. Suter has voiced his desires to play with Parise.

Perhaps the two take discounts to play together?

A pipe-dream? Yeah. Possible? You be the judge.
