(I apologize if you've read this already I posted as a comment in previous fan post then pulled it down to make my first fan post)
I may get fired for this but just some team building things i’v been thinking about….For starters lets say we can woooo Parise and Suter, absolutely do it. That leaves us with a log jam at defense so I’d let Sal walk and attempt a trade with Edmonton. Now the details of this trade can go a few different ways but what i’m thinking is that the Oliers are definitely taking Nail Yakupov with the first pick now this leaves them stacked with young talent in their top 6 so they would proably be willing to trade away someone like Ales Hemsky or even Sam Ganger. Ganger is younger but Hemsky although somewhat frail is a proven scorer. I would offer something like the 29th pick a D-man(Zids,Tallinder, Volch, or Greene) and a prospect. Now we have the question of the bottom 6, I let Poni walk we can get similiar production out of someone under contract already so why spend the $$$ i would bring back the fantastic 4th in it’s entirety all getting about 750k each. So this leaves me with a few different lineups but i will go with best case scenario
1a. Parise-Zajac-Hemsky
1b. Elias-Henrique-Kovalchuk
3. Zubrus-Josefson-Clarkson
4. Carter-Gionta-Bernier
Boulton,Sykora(would come back for $10 and pack of gum)if not then Zharkov
Suter-Tallinder
Greene-Fayne
Volchenkov-Larrson
Harrold(at current salary or someone from AHL not named Gelinas or Merril)
Marty-Kincaid
Now this was the 1st time i used capgeek so hopefully i did it correct and this leaves below the cap ceiling assuming Marty takes hometown discount Parise and Suter are in the 7-8 range and Fayne doesnt take a huge raise.
(Zids in the trade for Hemsky is a bit unicorn-ish so replace whichever D-man you send to Edmonton with him)
Let me know your thoughts!!!!!
