Apparently according to Renaud Lavoie of RDS in Canada, Evander Kane does not want to negotiate a contract with the Jets. Lavoie said he heard this from a teammate of Kane's.

If it's true that Kane wants out of Winnipeg I think he'd be a very good option, especially if Parise walks.

Kane would be highly sought after from many teams, but I think he's the type of player the Devils should be looking for. He's only 20 years old, a left winger, and he managed to hit 30 goals last year.

Kane I think has the ability to be 35-40 goal consistent kind of player with a lot of upside.

It doesn't mean much considering it's a weak free agent class, but I think he's better than anyone that's a free agent except Suter and Parise.

I do see Kane becoming a bidding war though, and a lot of piayers, picks, and prospects going the way of the Jets. If the Devils do get involved I hope they don't sell a lot of the farm for him.
