Little bit of an introduction, I'm a longtime Devils fan, and I have been lurking ILWT for some time now. One of my more favorite things to do during this post season was to scroll through the comments after a game and read all of the random pictures/GIFs posted. Thanks for many-a-laugh ILWT. My favorite was everything posted after the final Rags game.
I feel that as a Devils fan, the times are turbulent but I really hope/think that something "big" is brewing in the organization. With the loss in the SCF, two coaches leaving, and Suter's girlfriend signing with Minnesota, clouded by the financial woes, I think times are tough but I believe. Perhaps I am being slightly optimistic, but I feel that the team is walking into 2012-13 a better team than they were walking into 2011-2012. Why? Its more than me hating on a certain player because I need to buy a new jersey, I think its that NJ cannot be more of an "underdog" right now. Short of Vanderbeek doing something crazy like moving the team to Winnipeg, I don't think the ESPN types (and rags fans) could have anything more to hate on NJ for. I'm sure the media will talk about everything from the SCF to suter's GF until November, so I guess what I'm rambling about is....
I think NJ has hit the bottom, and the only direction to go is up. And with 98% of a team that was five periods (excluding OT) away from winning the Stanley Cup in 2012, I don't think we are all that bad.
On a side note... how 'taboo' is discussing knockoff Chinese jerseys on here? I need a new Jersey (although on Nov. '11 I will be taping "SELLOUT" on the nametape of my #9 'Retro Night' jersey).
