Conundrum

Hey guys. I have a bit of a problem I'm trying to work out and I could use some advice from everyone here, as experts on being Devils Fans.

My girlfriend, who I adore, is a die-hard Rangers fan. That's not the issue (in fact it has its benefits). Back in February after some employment difficulties she moved across country to Los Angeles to get away from the East coast for some time. This is also not the issue (though the distance is brutal).

The issue is that I could score a million-billion boyfriend points with one very simple gesture. Visit her in August. Buy tickets to the Kings season opener against the Rags at the Staples Center. Suffer through watching the Kings raise their Stanley Cup Championship Banner and then have to root for them against Our Hated Rivals not four months afte they defeated us in the Finals.

What's a guy to do? As an additional note, I have a pretty strict rule that when I go to a professional sporting event I will wear apparel of one of the teams participating. Every time I go to a Rags game with her at the Garden I stop at the NHL store on my way to pick up a T-Shirt of whichever team I'm going to watch play that night. I'm building a nice collection (so far including Chicago, Toronto and Washington shirts). But how can I bring myself to wear a Kings shirt? I think the only way to bear it would be to get an old-school Kings jersey, probably Gretzky or Hrudey (I loved Kelly Hrudey as a kid and had his trading card in my locker in high school).

I need help guys!
