Well, we all know whats happened with zach. Once hes so loyal he left. On the other hand we need someone to replace his scoring and grit. Really though, i dont think anyone in the league is like zach, no one can be that gritty and produce points. I believe we should let sykora go, and add an offensive player and a cheap but effective two-way third liner.

First, i believe the devils should make a run at Semin. This guy needs a new home and i think he can be more effective offensivley than zach. Semin has put up over 80 points and has a better points per game than zach has since the lockout. Semin could score 30+ goals on a line wit Kovy, they have played together in world championships and in the olympics. With the scoring touch he does play a better defensive game than Kovy does. I dont think he is Zach but i think he most certainly can score. I think the devils should go out there and sign him for 5 years 5.5-6 million a year. Call me crazy but i have faith in him.

Second, we are all aware that some toughness and grit has to be added to our roster. The Barch signing kind of solved that but i do think we need an effective two-way edgey veteran winger. What better way than to bring Langenbrunner back. Jamie will give us the leadership and courage that we lost in Zach. Dont forget he does have an offensive upside. Jamie isnt as skilled as he was, but at a cheap price i think Jamie would do very solid with us. A one year 2 million dollar deal sounds fair for him.

Obviously Semin and Langenbrunner arent Zach they could bring us back on track to a deep playoff run. I think both players could fit with us, and could turn are bad summer around. I obviously dont know whats going on with Lou and how hes negotiating but i feel both players would fit perfectley in NJ.
