Adam Henrique... The New Face Of The Franchise?

The Colorado Avalanche just made Gabe Landeskog their captain not too long ago making him the youngest captain in NHL history.

The Devils meanwhile have Adam Henrique who is one of their most valuable assets. On and off the ice I think Henrique needs to be the new face of the team. With Elias and Brodeur on their way out and with Parise already gone, it's important the Devils recognize who will be leading this franchise for years to come.

Kovalchuk, Larsson, Henrique, and Zajac. These are the players that will lead us into the future.

Kovalchuk should not be the captain of this team. I think he'd do better as a quiet leader who'd let his on ice actions speak for themselves like fighting Brayden Schenn for instance.

Larsson can't be captain. His on ice ability will be good in the future, but I think he's too quiet a person. His personality just doesn't fit what I expect from a captain.

Travis Zajac I don't know. He's a leader for sure, but he's in the same position Parise was in last year before he was named captain. Is the team ready to give the captaincy to a player on a one year contract again?

That leaves us Henrique. Here's a kid people expected to come in and fit into the lineup. Not exactly make his own mark on the team. He left us all wanting more and hope for the future. He plays well in big situations and there isn't really anything more you can ask from Adam Henrique. I think he's ready to take over this team as of today (Or whenever the season starts).

Even if Henrique is not named captain he should at least be given a letter and be groomed for the captain's role if it ever happens for him. Personally, I'd give him the C and be done with it. He's one of the best things the team has going for them now.

I think he's ready to become the face of this team, what about you guys?
