Would the community here at ILWT be interested in getting involved in the Trees For Goals campaign that Stanley Cup of Chowder kicked off? The details of the charity are over at The Nature Conservancy. The Bruins blog is donating for goals scored by Andrew Ference and a few other things. The Habs blog is also in on this playing up the Habs/Bruins rivalry. Andrew Ference and the NHL are also making donations.
A bunch of ideas were thrown around in the preview thread for our game against the Bruins on the 29th. Personally I would get behind any donation, but my suggestion is 25 or 50 trees for each Shutout that Marty/Moose put up (so we have one already). I also like the idea of donating for any other thing we come up with, like Clarkson falling or Kovalchuk scoring or Elias making a beautiful no-look pass for a Stanley Cup winning goal (1,000 trees).
Is this something we can get behind as a community?
